The Warriors are planning to meet with free agent guard Andre Iguodala today in Los cheap jerseys authentic Angeles, according to a team source.General manager Bob Myers will be armed with an offer in the range of $13 to $15 million a year. The deal will also include a third year, which is a big deal since the Warriors will have to sign Klay Thompson to an extension that year. Iguodala, who wanted more than the Warriors’ initial overtures, hit the free agency market with a hopes of getting a lucrative offer. The goal is to put pressure on the Warriors to give him more. He met with San Antonio, a meeting he requested, and Houston, who according to Marc Spears of The Undefeated gave Iguodala an offer. The Spurs are one of the league’s most financially savvy teams, and Houston doesn’t have $10 million to offer Iguodala without dumping more salary. So it doesn’t seem that Iguodala procured the big money deal he was seekingt. Still, the Warriors are prepared to give Iguodala a deal that presumably exceeds what he got on the free agent market so they can keep the 2015 NBA Finals MVP. The Warriors acquired Kevin Durant this time last year with plans for the top six players to stay together. Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, Klay Thompson and now Shaun Livingston — who signed a three-year, $24 million deal last night — are all under contract. Durant is expected to sign after the Warriors are done making moves. That leaves Iguodala. His return to the Warriors, or not, could be resolved today.

f this was goodbye for Yu Darvish and Texas Rangers fans, it was a rough way to go.Darvish allowed a career high 10 runs to the Marlins on Wednesday night. It’s the first time he has allowed more than seven runs in any game. Darvish, a free agent at the end of this season, could be dealt to a contending team in the next few days as the July 31 trade deadline approaches. He may have scared a few teams with this outing. Darvish’s ERA in his last five starts jumped to 7.20. He has now had two starts this month in which he allowed at least seven earned runs (he allowed seven against the Red Sox on July 4). He had three such starts in his career prior to this stretch. It was indicative from the first batter that it would not be Darvish’s night. Dee Gordon’s leadoff home run snapped a 413 at-bat homerless streak, the longest active streak among non-pitchers in the majors entering Wednesday. Darvish in 2017 Darvish was coming off a three-start stretch in which he had a 2.86 ERA, and in his last start prior to Friday, he matched a season high with eight innings in which he struck out 12 against the Rays. He has pitched well at times this season, allowing one run and one hit in seven innings in a win against the Astros on June 12 and pitching seven scoreless two-hit innings with 10 strikeouts in Yankee Stadium 11 days later. Globe Life Park in Arlington has been a trouble spot for Darvish this season. He has a 5.38 ERA in 12 home starts this season, compared to a 2.49 ERA in 10 road starts. Darvish’s career Darvish was quite good but never quite lived up to the hype after the Rangers won the right to purchase him from the Nippon Ham Fighters for $51.7 million in January 2012. He had a 3.90 ERA as a rookie in 2012 but lost the AL wild-card game to the Orioles. The next season was his best, a 2.83 ERA and a league-leading 277 strikeouts. But then came an elbow injury that limited Darvish to 22 starts in 2014, knocked him out for 2015 (Tommy John surgery) and a shoulder injury that held him to 17 starts in 2016. He made another postseason start against the Blue Jays last season but lost that as well. Darvish’s legacy will be strikeouts. His 11.0 strikeouts per nine innings rank best in Rangers history, one spot ahead of Hall of Famer (and Rangers wholesale mlb jerseys legend and former owner) Nolan Ryan. But if this is it, Darvish ends with eight straight winless starts, the longest winless streak of his career.
With the NBA playoffs behind us, the 2017 off–season is here and many teams must make massive decisions. CBA expert Danny Leroux breaks down the major challenges and opportunities for the Detroit Pistons in The Crossover’s NBA Summer Preview series. The Pistons are in an unenviable position to start the summer. While they have a talented roster, they are a rare non-playoff team with very little flexibility. Spending up to the salary cap line and then giving Andre Drummond a big raise last off-season was a reasonable use of resources since that cap space was going away as soon as Drummond re-signed but it functionally locked in their team for another few years. That decision by coach and president of basketball operations Stan Van Gundy did not bear out in the 2016-17 season, as Detroit fell short of the playoffs with a 37-45 record. Now their salary situation gets even more challenging as shooting guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope will receive his raise with the team’s other principals already under contract. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope: The 24-year old restricted free agent will likely get a serious contract offer due to his ability to defend, hit open threes (35% this season) and play a scarce position. Van Gundy can either analyze the decision on Caldwell-Pope’s offer sheet in isolation or in the greater context of the Pistons’ substantial salary obligations. Additionally, the two sides could attempt to come to an agreement on a deal outside of the restricted free agency process, as the Magic did with Evan Fournier last season. #12 pick: One silver lining to Detroit’s disappointing season is that they have the chance to draft a talented prospect who could also provide some cost-controlled value on an expensive team. There has been reporting that Van Gundy could move this choice for a veteran and while there are certainly some who would provide a meaningful upgrade, those decisions often hurt teams down the road. Furthermore, while some feel the 12th pick may be just after a potential drop-off point in this draft class, it would only take one or two reaches to change that cheap jerseys China dynamic and open up a great opportunity. Luxury tax avoidance: If Caldwell-Pope ends up close to his maximum salary (about $25 million for 2017-18), the Pistons will be over the luxury tax line even before using their Mid-Level exception. Aron Baynes will likely factor into the resolution of that because he can decline his player option worth $6.5 million or he can pick it up and Detroit can trade him to a team more interested in a backup center on a one-year contract than the free agents on the market. If free agents Reggie Bullock and Beno Udrih are headed elsewhere, the Pistons will still need to clear about $4 million more to get under the tax, not including any new salary signed during the off-season. Fortunately, the front office has more time to get it done because teams only need to get below the line by the end of the regular season, making the trade deadline another opportunity to shed salary.
Amir Johnson has agreed to join the Philadelphia 76ers on a one year, $11 million deal per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, continuing his short-term eight-figure tour of the Atlantic Division. But according to Woj, his path to the Sixers nearly took a different route. When he appeared on ESPN Saturday evening, he elaborated on a trade that was discussed, but never came to fruition.
Adam Himmelsbach first reported that sign-and-trade discussions were being held over Johnson. The trade would have been a surprising one, as it could have added Okafor’s $5 million contract at a time where the Celtics are trying to send out salary to open space to sign Gordon Hayward. Johnson joins Philly the same day as J.J. Redick, who agreed to a one-year, $23 million deal Saturday. As the Sixers use their cap space to bring in well-regarded veterans on short-term deals, they inch closer to playoff contention in a depleted Eastern Conference. The Big Dog leaves Boston after two solid seasons, starting 77 games last season as Al Horford’s frontcourt partner while carefully managing his health with low minutes and occasional rest. Johnson was the team’s most reliable interior defender, adept at verticality shot contests and reading the cheap nba jerseys pivot. Although he ended on a down note, falling out of the rotation for the playoffs after starting most of the season, he was a continuously positive and hard-working presence. Beloved by his teammates and coaches, the Big Dog leaves a hole in the Celtics’ big man rotation, which is currently filled by just Al Horford and Ante Zizic.
CHICAGO — Another quality start by Chicago Cubs righty Jake Arrieta on Wednesday night, against the crosstown White Sox, further cements the notion that his team isn’t in any desperate need of a trade-deadline hurler to complete its rotation.Arrieta took a no-hit bid into the fifth inning and gave up just two hits overall before giving way to reliever Mike Montgomery in the seventh. The Cubs rolled into first place in the National League Central with a 8-3 victory over the White Sox. In Arrieta’s previous four starts, opponents were hitting just .174 off him, and that number took another dive as he gave up very little hard contact in this one. A one-out double in the fifth and a solo home run to uber-prospect Yoan Moncada in the seventh were all he surrendered. Arrieta looks closer to the 2015 version of himself who won the Cy Young Award than he has in a long time. At the very least, he’s pitching as well as he did during portions of 2016, when he won 18 games. Although the Cubs could still grab a starter such as Justin Verlander, who can help them in the coming years, they have enough in the rotation right now to win the division. With Wednesday’s victory, they unseated Milwaukee to take sole possession of first place for the first time since May 26. “We expect to remain in first place throughout the remainder of the way,” Arrieta said. But that doesn’t mean the Cubs are finished dealing. Their needs continue to center on the bullpen, which has shown cracks at the time when the rotation has carried them. Montgomery gave up a home run and cheap jerseys was in trouble in several innings Wednesday. Monday’s trade deadline is fast approaching, but right now, the Cubs can celebrate their return to first place, as they’ve made up six games on the now-second-place Brewers since the All-Star break. A series in Milwaukee looms this weekend. The Brewers will miss Arrieta, and that might be the best news they receive.
