Russell Westbrook NBA Jersey Cheap From China

Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey has taken issue with the voting for this year’s NBA MVP award, given to Oklahoma City Thunder star Russell Westbrook over Rockets guard James Harden, citing inconsistencies in the criteria that sportswriters use to decide the vote.

“We thought James was the MVP, but there were a bunch of very good, deserving candidates,” he said in an interview with Ben Golliver of SI.com. “I didn’t like how a different MVP criteria was used this year, compared to the last 55 years, to fit more of a marketing slogan. People thought a different criteria for selecting the MVP this year was the way to go.”

Morey added: “I don’t know if this is a good process. The ones that are decided by players or executives or media, they all have their strengths and weaknesses. I honestly don’t think there’s a good process. You could argue for eliminating the awards altogether. I don’t really see a good way to do it that doesn’t have major issues. I like clean answers. If there’s not going to be a set criteria and there’s going to be issues with how it’s structured, for me it might be better to not have it.”

To be fair to Morey, his argument seems to be centered on the idea that winning cheap jerseys was important criteria for voters in the past but was dismissed this year. Harden, for instance, led the Rockets to 55 wins, while fellow finalist Kawhi Leonard helped the Spurs accumulate 61 victories.

Westbrook’s Thunder, on the other hand, put up 47 wins.

Morey suggested that players like Harden or his new teammate, Chris Paul, may have a tough time gaining consideration in the future as well.

“Given that the criteria seems to be shifting away from winning, I would guess that [adding Paul] probably doesn’t help anyone’s chances on our team. That said, I don’t think anybody really cares [going forward],” Morey said. “James definitely cared and I think we all cared [about the 2017 MVP]. But we’ve moved on since the award isn’t focused on winning anymore. Let’s just win and not worry about it.”

Westbrook presented a compelling case to MVP voters, of course, becoming the first player to average a triple-double for a season since Oscar Robertson in the 1961-62 campaign. But Morey has hinted that he feels some of those stats may have held little value.

It’s an interesting debate, especially since everybody seems to have a different concept of what value represents. The general compromise seems to be voting for the player who had the greatest impact on a good team, a subjective concept itself, while others believe that the league’s best player—aka LeBron James—is always the league’s most valuable player.

That makes the MVP debate vibrant each year, though it also means there will likely never be a definitive set of criteria for determining the winner, to the chagrin of Morey.

Authentic Paul George NBA Jersey Discount

Once again, the Warriors chose Klay Thompson over another All-Star.

This time, it was the Indiana Pacers who came knocking in search of Thompson.

And Paul George, speaking Thursday on the podcast of venerable NBA reporter Adrian Wojnarowski, confirmed that he was the bait.

The Warriors, of course, did not bite. They have their reasons.

Before trading the four-time All-Star to the Thunder on June 30, the Pacers shopped George around the league in hopes of making the best deal. George can become a free agent next summer, and he announced plans to leave Indiana. The Southern California native previously had made it clear that he’d like to land with the Lakers.

He instead got Russell Westbrook and Oklahoma City, at least partly because the Warriors rebuffed Indiana’s overtures.

“Yeah, I was aware of it,” George said of the proposed deal involving Thompson. “I would have looked forward to it of just being able to be in a good situation and a chance to compete for a championship. It didn’t happen. It’s still fun to team up with a special talent and have a chance to compete against that team.”

So why would the Warriors turn down an opportunity to add George to a group that would include Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant and Draymond Green? There are no fewer than three rational reasons.

First and foremost, it would come at the expense of Thompson, a three-time All-Star they drafted in 2011. The Warriors value Thompson as much — if not more — for his defense than his prolific scoring. They consider him the perfect partner for Curry, who benefits from Thompson’s floor-stretching ability on one end and his defensive qualities on the other.

George would have to play guard, and the 6-foot-9 forward wouldn’t be able to defend the perimeter players to which the Warriors assign Thompson.

Second, George needs the ball and Thompson doesn’t. Thompson needed only 11 dribbles to score 60 points in three quarters — and had the ball for a total of 90 seconds. George might dribble 11 times in five minutes.

The questions about whether Durant’s game could exist within the framework of the Warriors were not legitimate. Any questions about whether George’s game could do so are profoundly legitimate.

Third, the prevailing opinion George is he will land with the Lakers, the team he grew up rooting for largely because of a player, Kobe Bryant, that George idolized.

How could the Warriors, no matter how confident they are in the seductive qualities of their culture, reconcile swapping two more years of a player they know for one year of one they don’t?

It was three years ago that the Timberwolves and the Warriors discussed a trade involving Kevin Love and Thompson. The Warriors considered it, but the brain trust was divided. Coach Steve Kerr and then-adviser Jerry West — after watching video of Love on defense — were vehement in their support of keeping Thompson. The Warriors walked away.

They have no regrets.

This time, the Warriors most assuredly didn’t reach the point of serious consideration.

George, for his part, doesn’t think it would have mattered, that the league would have stepped in to block a deal that would have sent him to the NBA champs.

“Yeah I think that would have been the Chris Paul to LA (Lakers) situation, where they denied that trade,” he said, referencing then-commissioner David Stern’s block of a deal that would cheap jerseys China have sent Paul from the Hornets to the Lakers.

For what it’s worth, the Paul-to-the-Lakers deal, in 2011, was easier to kill because the league already had taken temporary ownership of the Hornets.

Justise Winslow Authentic Stitched NBA Jersey

Q: I really, really fear trading Justise Winslow. I don’t think Kyrie Irving is that much better than Goran Dragic and the upgrade wouldn’t be worth the cost of losing Winslow. That’s not to say Kyrie is overrated because he is certainly a superstar and among the five best scorers in the NBA. I believe that Dragic is better than he gets credit for and I’m also really high on Winslow. I believe he has All-Star potential. He’s 21 with only one real season of play. Shooting is something that can be fixed with proper form and repetition. I believe in Winslow’s work ethic and our coaching staff enough to know that the shot will come. Real quick: Look at Draymond Green, as he is the heart of soul of one of the best teams ever, but he shot 30 percent from 3 this past season. The Cavs almost sagged into the paint when guarding him in the Finals, but he stayed on the floor because his defense, rebounding, playmaking and intangibles which are all things Justise can bring right now. Trading Winslow would be a mistake. — Kevin.

A: And Draymond shot only 28 percent on 3-pointers in the NBA Finals and 35 percent from the floor during that series. So, yes, it can be about more than shooting. In fact, I like what Justise said last week about becoming a better finisher. I believe that it an offensive element that can compensate for an errant jumper. Is baseball, the ultimate prospects are five-tool players. Justise at the moment is a four-tool player, with his individual defense, team defense, playmaking and rebounding. That can take you far in the NBA, in the proper system. Just as Justise is still adjusting to the NBA game, so, too, must the staff come up with a game that accentuates his positives, as the Warriors have done with Draymond.

Q: Somebody from the Mavericks saw something in Gian Clavell. If the Heat had signed him and could somehow develop an extra gear in his first step, he would be better than Tyler Johnson. Time will tell. One slipped away. — William.

A: It might have looked like a case of one that got away, but the Heat clearly had plan when it came their development program, moving instead to Matt Williams Jr. and Derrick Walton Jr. These are intriguing times in the NBA, with the advent of the two-way contract and the $50,000 seeding of contracts wholesale nba jerseys for players to be directly assigned to developmental-league affiliates. You now are moving to a player at a rawer stage of their development, which means a far more disparate view of what eventually can emerge. It will be fascinating to see how such seed money will pay off across the league.

Q: Don’t you find it ironic that the last two NBA collective bargaining agreements were put in place to create more parity in the league, yet in realty it has done the exact opposite? I don’t think a weapons race is parity. — Stuart.

A: Which why the Cavaliers has practically become a petri dish for the future of super teams, and whether such chemistry can endure. For all the Warriors accomplished with Kevin Durant jumping aboard, it has only been one year with that mix. It will be interesting to see what will happen with Klay Thompson when he hits free agency in the 2019 offseason. Or, for that matter, how the James Harden-Chris Paul chemistry plays out in Houston, or what the injection of Gordon Hayward into Boston’s rotation does for the Celtics. In many ways, we’re still in the experimental phase with super teams, with even the Heat’s Big Three limited to two titles.

Cheap James Harden NBA Jersey Authentic Online

LOS ANGELES — Chris Paul and James Harden have been training together since the Houston Rockets acquired Paul from the LA Clippers in a trade last month. They made their public debut as teammates Sunday in front of a standing-room-only crowd at Los Angeles’ famed Drew League.

Harden finished with game highs of 27 points and 12 rebounds, while adding six assists and two steals for his LAUNFD (pronounced “L.A. Unified”) team, which pulled out an 83-81 win over a Home Town Favorites team that featured current NBA players Jordan cheap authentic jerseys Bell, Delon Wright and Tim Hardaway Jr.

In the first half, the two point guards, who now must learn to share a backcourt, seemed to trade off ballhandling and playmaking duties with one player firmly in control of the possession and the other spotting up to shoot. But as the game went on, there was more synergy to their games.

It’s a harmonizing process they’ve worked on all summer, in open-court runs in Los Angeles and Las Vegas. It’ll continue in the fall as well, as Rockets teammate Bobby Brown said the team is planning to continue to train together in L.A., then again in the Bahamas in late August.

It was something the Rockets did last summer as well, as they began learning coach Mike D’Antoni’s offense and facilitating Harden’s change to a lead guard position.

“That really helped us jell last year,” Brown said.

Despite playing for the Clippers for the previous six seasons, Paul had never played in the Drew League before Sunday’s game.

Paul watched Harden the week before, though, and he shook off a slow start to finish with 13 points and 10-assists. Before the prior week’s game, Brown informed Paul that he would need to play in order to be eligible for the Drew League playoffs that will start Friday.

“CP came to the game last week and he was itching to play,” Brown said. “After that, he texted me saying, ‘Yo, I want to play. Think it would be cool if I could play with y’all?’ I said, ‘No problem. It’s the Drew League, you haven’t played yet. You get your shine, you get your welcoming to the Drew on a good team, with your brother.’

“That was an easy call. He had fun,” added Brown, a four-time Drew League champion. “JH always has fun. Me and James have been playing together for the third year in a row.”

It was a star-studded event for the Drew League. Chicago Bulls guard Dwyane Wade made it to the game to watch courtside, along with Toronto Raptors All-Star DeMar DeRozan, who played earlier in the day with Nick Young of the Golden State Warriors and Julius Randle of the Los Angeles Lakers.

“There were hundreds of people outside waiting, coming and going because they couldn’t get in,” Drew League commissioner Chaniel Smiley said of the packed crowd Sunday. “Today’s crowd had to be on my top-two list.”

LAUNFD started the game with Harden, Paul, Bobby Brown, former NBA player Pooh Jeter, and 2018 ESPN 100 top high school player Marvin Bagley III. Home Town Favorites started Delon Wright, 12-year NBA veteran Dorell Wright, Hardaway, Golden State Warriors rookie Jordan Bell and USC sophomore DeAnthony Melton.

The stakes were actually high for Harden and Paul’s LAUNFD team, as they had to win to make the league’s postseason. Home Town Favorites got off to the fast start, getting 11 first quarter points from Hardaway to lead 29-22. Home Town Favorites led at halftime 44-40, with Paul making only one-of-eight from the field.

But Paul turned it on in the third quarter, making three 3-pointers and showing off his handle along the baseline at one point before making a step-back to force a Home Town Favorites timeout. LAUNFD outscored Home Town Favorites 26-9 in the third quarter before holding on to win.

LAUNFD played a lot like the Houston Rockets that GM Daryl Morey has fostered this decade, making and attempting more 3-pointers (16-of-44) than 2-pointers (15-of-35). Harden (6-of-15 on 3s) and Paul (3-of-11 on 3s) were a big part of that offensive mix, something that Brown noted was intentional.

“At the end of the day, our strong suit is shooting 3s,” Brown said. “We knew what type of game it was going to be. We knew the type of players we had. We just stuck through to the end and we came out with the win.”

At one point late in the game, Harden was stripped of the ball by Dorell Wright, leaving Harden shaken up and holding his left thumb. Harden would finish the game, but it was an uncomfortable moment for Houston Rockets CEO Tad Brown, who was sitting courtside.

“It was fun,” Brown said about the game. “It got a little suspect there when James wrecked his thumb. But overall, it was fun.”

It was reported that Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook would suit up for Home Town Favorites, and while Wright explained that there were conversations about Westbrook playing, he said that Westbrook is “in a different situation than a lot of us.”

“We talk about it often, you know, for the past few years. He wants to get out here,” said Wright, who, like Westbrook, went to Leuzinger High School in Lawndale, California. “[Westbrook] has a lot on the table right now. I’m pretty sure that whatever he had going on today, he had to handle that.

“He’ll get out here one of these days, and everybody will be pretty happy,” Wright added.

If Westbrook would have played, he would have had to negotiate with Melton to wear his signature No. 0.

“No, no, no, no,” Melton said when asked if he would have given up the number to Westbrook. “OK, maybe, we’ll see, I don’t know. He didn’t come, so that’s all we know,” Melton added with a smile on his face.

The Drew League will continue into August as they prepare to host Jamal Crawford and the Seattle Pro-Am “The Crawsover” in Los Angeles on Wednesday for an invitational. The next two weekends will be Drew League playoffs, which Harden and Paul will now be eligible to play in.
